Since our inception in 1986 we have built 166 homes in our community providing shelter for over 450 parents and children. There are many ways that you can help! • It costs HFHNCC approximately $125,000 to build a home in New Castle County. • About half that cost is materials. • HFHNCC receives very few donated materials. We do, however, purchase some supplies at a discount, thanks to partnerships with local suppliers. •$.93 cents of every dollar donated goes toward our home building projects. Visit GUIDESTAR . • HFHNCCsells the house to our Habitat families at cost, and with a no-interest mortgage. • HFHNCC holds the mortgage for our homes, homeowner mortgage payments are then 'recycled' back into our house building operations.
