Romona currently lives in transitional housing at the YWCA by way of a domestic violence shelter. An employee at the location recommended Romona look into partnering with Habitat. Worried she might not be accepted, Romona took a chance and was rewarded with the opportunity to help build her new home. “I began to thank God for helping me by way of [Habitat]. I cried with joy,” Romona said upon hearing the news. “I hope God continues to bless this program so that you can continue to bless [people like me].”
