Michelle and her son, Richard, currently live with her mother and father. Michele and Richard share a small room where they share bunkbeds. On weekends when Michelle’s neices stay over, Richard is relegated to sleeping on the floor in a sleeping bag.

Michele came to Habitat at the urging of her friend, who knew of Michelle’s current living situation as well as her personal desire to regain control of her personal financial situation.

Michelle looks forward to hosting family gatherings at her new home, giving her son a room of his own (to study and do his homework), making new friends and becoming a part of a neighborhood. She is especially excited to meet the volunteers who will help her construct her new house. “I’m really looking forward to meeting the volunteers, making new friends and learning a lot!”
