Building off the success of their first event, Habitat Young Professionals (HYP) announce tickets are on sale now for their "Welcome Home Phils" block party featuring an apperance by Habitat volunteer and Phillies pitcher, Vance Worley. The event will be held on Tuesday, April 10 from 6-8 p.m. at the Buffalo Wild Wings (Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE) Tickets are $40 per person and include Buffalo Wild Wings favorites and 2 complimentary drinks. HYPN is a diverse group who embody a spirit of service. With Habitat New Castle County we seek to combat poverty housing by helping build and rehabilitate affordable housing alongside local families in need. Ticket information will be coming soon! In the long-term, HYP members are to become ambassadors for the Habitat cause, transitioning into prominent contributors on the HYP Board of Directors and in their communities. Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County has been building affordable housing with low-income families since 1986. Since our inception, we have built more than 183 homes in areas throughout New Castle County including the City of Wilmington, Middletown, Newark, New Castle, and St. Georges. As a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, we are among the top three largest affiliates in the Northeast (of over 210 affiliates from DE to Maine) in terms of home construction. Through our unique approach, we help low-income families break the cycle of poverty through the stability and empowerment gained through homeownership. |
