New Castle County ReStores

Every purchase at our ReStores offers new opportunity. Thank you for shopping!

As part of Habitat for Humanity New Castle Counties, our ReStores are nonprofit thrift stores that accept donations of new and gently used furniture, appliances, home décor, and building supplies from the public.

When possible, donated building materials will be used to build and preserve Habitat homes. Extra building materials, along with furniture, appliances, and other items are sold to the public at more than 50% off retail prices.

Each donation and purchase makes a big difference toward the mission of Habitat for Humanity: to build homes, community, and hope. But the impact goes far beyond that.

Say Hi if you see Roechelle around our Prices Corner ReStore.

Welcome to the Habitat ReStore Family, Roechelle

Roechelle has joined the ReStore Prices Corner team, in the newly created role of Merchandising Coordinator. Roechelle is a Delawarean and attended Wilmington High School. Afterwards she joined Charleston Job Corps in West Virginia, where she studied Retail and Restaurant Management. Roechelle has nearly 20yrs of Management experience and managed various departments at Walmart, as well as being a Store manager at both, Family Dollar, and Dollar General. Roechelle always wanted to do more in the community and after learning of our mission, she left her management role at Sav-A-Lot to be a part of something greater. The work she saw Habitat doing within Wilmington inspired her to want to join our mission, and the rest is history! Roechelle is a mother and wife AND a true shopaholic and a lover of all things Michael Kors!

"It's not just for me but also for my nephews (my godchildren). I don't ever want them to feel like they have to go through what I went through".

Lucinda's Story

Family has always been an important constant in Lucinda’s life especially her relationship with her grandmother.  Prior to applying to Habitat, Lucinda found normalcy in sleeping in her car until she found a small apartment for her and her sister’s family.  As the small apartment seemed to grow smaller, Lucinda was encouraged to apply for Habitat.  The news of being accepted into the homeownership program came on a bittersweet day in December 2019.  Lucinda was beyond excited that her dream of homeownership was about to come true, however the first person she would want to share the news with recently passed away.  Her motivation throughout her journey towards homeownership has been both her grandmother’s support and wanting to create a more stable life for her nephews than what she experienced growing up.  On September 30, 2021, Lucinda received the keys to the stable forever home that she would share with her nephews.
