Letter from our CEO

Dear Community,

As we reflect on an incredible year, I am filled with gratitude and pride for what we have accomplished together in 2024. Thanks to the generosity of our community partners, the dedication of our hardworking homeowners, and the unwavering support of our volunteers and donors, Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County continues to make a lasting impact.

This year, we celebrated the dedication of our 311th Habitat home in New Castle County, providing families with the stability and security of homeownership. Through our critical repair programs, we have assisted a total of 758 homeowners (over 200 just in 2024), ensuring that families can continue to live safely and comfortably in their homes. Additionally, our neighborhood revitalization efforts have directly helped a total of 979 families, strengthening communities and fostering brighter futures.

One of our most significant milestones in 2024 was the successful completion of Eastside Thrive, one of Habitat’s largest community engagement projects to date. This initiative represents the power of collective action and the difference we can make when we come together to invest in our neighborhoods. We also proudly dedicated Grace Point II, four new homes in Middletown, ensuring we create housing opportunities throughout the county.

Running the HOPE Podcast for the last three years has been yet another positive way that Habitat has been able to engage with our community by sharing valuable information regarding our affordable housing, critical repairs, Almost Home, Neighborhood Revitalization, Rock the Block programs, and various other helpful tips and information. Through all of Habitat’s important programs, we are seeing God’s love in action and bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope.

As we look ahead to 2025, we remain committed to building strength, stability, and self­ reliance through affordable housing. With your continued support, we will embark on new projects, assist more families, and deepen our impact in the communities we serve. We envision a world where everyone has a decent place to call home.
