Here in New Castle County, Habitat NCC is committed to changing lives and landscapes by revitalizing neighborhoods and empowering the families we serve.
We build affordable housing, providing 0% interest mortgages to the hard-working qualified homeowners in our program.
We perform and coordinate critical home repairs for low income homeowners, ensuring that they are safe, warm and dry.
We partner with residents and stakeholders to revitalize neighborhoods and eliminate blight through neighborhood clean-ups and beautification projects.
We empower homeowners, residents and volunteers to make lasting change in the neighborhoods we serve through education, training and advocacy.
Since 1986, Habitat NCC has built more than 290 homes and ranks among the top three Habitat northeast affiliates of 210 affiliates (from Delaware to Maine) in terms of housing production. Throughout our 37-year history, we have served more than 1,500 New Castle County families through our multi-faceted programs.
We recognize that affordable housing is a GLOBAL issue and are committed to the vision that EVERYONE deserves a decent place to live. Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County is a dedicated contributor to Habitat International’s Tithe Program. To date, we have donated over $1 million to Habitat partners in third-world counties.
Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all.
Habitat welcomes volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds and serves people in need of decent housing regardless of race or religion.
As a matter of policy, Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliated organizations do not proselytize. This means that Habitat does not impose any condition that people must adhere to or convert to a particular faith, or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to any particular faith.
