Neighborhood Revitalization Program

Brick by brick. Block by block. Habitat is changing lives and landscapes in New Castle County.

While building new homes and renovating existing abandoned and decaying property, Habitat works with existing residents and local organizations to address the needs of the entire community.

We believe that decent, affordable housing plays a critical role in helping families create lives filled with possibility and progress. Through building affordable housing, assisting with critical home repairs for low-income homeowners, and engaging communities in neighborhood clean-up and beautification projects, Habitat is revitalizing blighted communities in New Castle County.

Together with residents and community partners, neighborhoods are revitalized.

Partnership

We collaborate with partners who share a common vision, goals and values for the neighborhood and who bring their own area of expertise to the process, with each organization doing its part to help revitalize the neighborhood.

Alongside Habitat, residents work with churches, schools, new and longstanding neighborhood coalitions, local government and other community partners to achieve their goals.

Rock the Block

Rock the Block is an extension of our work to revitalize neighborhoods in New Castle County. One family, one block, one street at a time. Neighborhood residents team up with Habitat staff and volunteers for a one or two-day blitz to repair, refresh, and restore a neighborhood where Habitat is currently building.
